Introduction
Ziga® Marine 2Se (Sacodia extract) is derived from a novel species of red algae (Sarcodiasuiae) native to Taiwan, primarily found along the eastern coastline, including Keelung, Taitung, Orchid Island, and Pingtung. The extract from Sarcodiasuiae is rich in polysaccharides. While most polysaccharides from red algae are carrageenan, Sarcodiasuiae contains a unique polysaccharide. This polysaccharide has a distinctive structure and function, exhibiting anti-inflammatory properties and reducing sebum production by inhibiting immune cells from releasing the cytokines IL-6 and IL-8. Additionally, it may help alleviate Malassezia-induced oily dandruff. Ziga® Marine 2Se is ideal for use in hair and scalp care products.
